Why would there be a wet spot near the timing chain cover?

My 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 has been nothing but trouble this past year! Recently I changed the thermostat for the 6th time, and now there seems to be a loss of coolant and some leaking around the timing chain cover. I just replaced the water pump last fall. Any thoughts as to what could be the problem this time? Thanks in advance.

the upper part of the timing chain cover was real bad to leak on those trucks, check that,on the left side of the engine if your standing directly in front of it,i have replaced a lot of those and people though it was the intake gaskets,if its the timing cover leaking be sure and check it for wear and tear in the timing chain and gears while you got it tore down ,its a lot easier to replace those now than to wait for them to break on you, good luck.

thanks, after doing about 50 of those you learn enough to know where they leak at most of the time, good luck on repairing it and take your time with putting it back together.
