Ford explorer 1999 sohc engine not firing on left hand bank after changing timing chains?

I HAVE A 1999 FORD EXPLORER WITH A V6 SOHC ENGINE AND IT HAD A RATTLING SOUND FOR WHICH MY MECHNIC FIT ALL NEW TIMING CHAINS, BUT AFTER PUTTING THE ENGINE TOGATHER THE LEFT HAND CYCLINDERS ARE NOT GETTING HOT - NOT FIRING. PLEASE ASSIST WITH POSSIBLE CAUSES. PS IT WAS RUNNING LIKE A DREAM - NO OTHER PROBLEMS EXCEPT FOR THE RATTLE NOSIE ON STARTUP.

the timeing chain wouldnt have nothing two do with that i would think he has left something un pluged like engine positioning sensor with tells the car when to fire but i think on them there are two coil pacs one for left and one for right i bet it isnt hooked up / unpluged

cut /broken wire to coil pack.is your checkengine lite on?

if so scan and c if you have power or what code is there.

check all your grounds
did you run a compression check to see if the one of the gears slipped?
Something unplugged, or timing chains are put wrong, takes special tool to time this engine
there was a recall by ford in which the tensioner was weak and it bleeds down at night causing the rattling noise on startup. the mechanic should have checked for any tsb's first and had ford replace the tensioner's under warranty before you put all the money into the engine. but, i would guess that something electrical was left off or unhooked causing the no fire on one side,
I agree, rattling on them things were more tensioner related than the chain itself and there was fixes of a new tensioner to solve some of it but the other fix was to replace the tensioners itself as well as the guide blocks....

check to see if he left off the wire or broke the cam position sensor on the left valve cover as the engine uses that to know when to fire. as it's the only thing I know of that won't affect the right bank also when firing plugs.... but if plugs fire but no output.. he put the cylinders out of time and possibly bent the valves as many said, it takes special tools to do a sohc motor
