2002 Nissan Altima 3.5L (stick shift) with 87,000 miles. When should I change timing belt/chain?

Alright, you've got the Altima w/the maxima motor- I have a maxima myself, but i'm unsure of when manuf. recomm. this changed- there are a few nissan master tech's on here that can probably tell you the exact mileage marker, John Paul if you're out there holla...

If it is a belt it wouldn't at all to change it every 50,000 miles the belts wear out much faster than the chains. I have had belt break and ruin a head before, and that runs into more money than changing the timing belt.

go to www.automobilerepaireasy.com they will send you a maintenance scedule and help you replace the timing chain or belt. they offer a great service i use them all the time
I believe it has a timing chain. Check your owners manual to be sure.

Chains should be good for 150k.
