1994 nissan sentra 1.6 liter timing chain?

i changed the timing chain,lined all timing marks,and silver tabs on chain.i also put no1 piston on tdc with no1 wire,but it will not start.i followed the haynes manual exactly and it was running when i tore it down.do you have any advice?

Your a brave DIY person. Timing chain on a sentra is not much fun. Even the experienced auto technician with a lift (what a messy job). Compression test is next you will want at least 140 psi and not more difference than 14 psi each. If it compresses fuels sparks it should start. You say you identified the plated links and cam shaft sprocket dots did you remove the cam shaft sprockets? Cams? get anything crossed up?

Double check your timing marks. Make sure you are actually looking at the timing marks and not a machining mark on any of the gears. Did you turn the crank or the cam with the chain off? If so, you may have bent one or more exhaust valves.
may have put it on the exhaust stroke for tdc..or it could have moved 1 tooth,
