Does my 2004 Toyota Camry LE (4 cylinder) have a timing belt or a timing chain?

The maintenance schedule says that the timing belt needs to be changed after 90k miles, but I have been told that my Camry does not have a timing belt.... If I have a timing chain, I assume that I don't have to worry about replacing it, right?

It has a chain. No need to worry about it.

Damn belt. I was so proud of Toyota using chains. But they are getting sloppy like G.M. with aluminum engines too.
This car has a timing chain and gears. You should still have it checked, because you could still break it. Also you should check it to make sure your timing is ok.
I am pretty sure the 04 has the belt. The newer ones might have the chain.
your book should know what its talking about.i think its a belt.
