Why my 1988 Buick Lesabre does not want to stay running?

I have changed the timing chain, harmonic balancer, crank gear sensor, and I don't know where else to look. I had it checked out and the timing is set right and the balancer was put on right. What else could it be? It started cold no problem but I drove it for about a mile and it started backfiring and would not accelerate. Finally it died, and would not start again it turns over but will not stay running.

what you can do it check the MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR if it has not been replaced since 1988 that is 65% chance that is the problem. MASS AIR flow sensor is the sensor that is connected to your air filter i would say replace it because that is what feeds oxygen to your fire(the engine) no Oxygen no fire understand??
