MASTER TECHS -- Have any of you dealt with 4.0 timing chain replacement?

97 Explorer 4.0l V6 sohc 4x4. Bought it cheep for a parts truck but it looks better than mine. Has 57,000 miles on the truck. (I know it doesn't sound right but I know the owner and it's right) The crank turns over without any restriction, and I haven't taken the valve covers off yet to see if the cams are turning. I know that you have to pull the engine to change all 4 chains. Any comments you give about your experience with this will help me decide what I will eventually do. Thanks in advance.

I've researched this before and here are a couple of detailed reports with photos..

There are no timing marks, no keys on gears on camshafts, have to use special service tools
