Your vehicle is equipped with a Timing Belt, not a chain. If you look in your owners manual, it should give you the time/mileage that it is recommended to replace.

Generally anywhere from 70-80,000 miles it is a good time to replace it.

you mean timing belt right? if it has chain u never change if belt between 80,000 and 100,000 miles...if it breaks your engine is junk
Timming belt. If you are at the reccomended mileage, it's a good idea. If the belt breaks you looking at a monster repair bill.
Timing belt recommended replacement ,60,000 miles on Mitsubishi mirage. don't lapse it can be a very costly mistake.
