When you change a a timing belt on an '02 Honda Civic, can you replace it with a chain?

umm i wouldn't do that. timing belt is way better to use. rubber is mechanically more efficient and quieter

Not without changing the pulleys as well if there is an aftermarket company producing them..

And I would do this why?

Instead of buying 10 dollar timing belts, try a high Nitral saturated one.
I've never seen one but, it's a good Idea the only problem with it would be lubrication.... I wish I could get a gear drive for my civic that would be awesome...
DO NOT USE A CHAIN!

The engine in made for a RUBBER TIMING BELT for a reason! So go out and get one, it is safer, quieter, and will run much better!

no,no, no the chain is connected to sprokets and the belt is not you would have to change out a lot of pats at alot of money. have the serpintine belt changed..
