I have a 2000 dodge intrepid 2.7liter with 96,000 miles on it, should I replace the timing chain?

Isn't it normal maintenance to change a timing chain after 100,000 miles??

Yes. Change it as soon as possible.

You MUST buy the updated timing chain tensioner from Chrysler. The 3.9 engine has the same trouble. They are the only source I know of for the NEW design!!! Around $40. Call the junkyards to see how many of these engines have failed. You are crazy if you don't use Mobil One in this engine!!!
